Make Me S’more

Give me s'more!

I love s’mores!
Today marked the official opening of S’more Season as defined by me.  We start s’more season before school ends each year and end it after school starts again in the Fall.  We mark many occasions with s’mores night – last day of school, first day of school, HOT night in summer, end of vacation week, kids did something cool, or we just need to connect.

We often invite neighbour kids over for s’mores night.  Tonight we invited two neighbour kids and before my son hung up the phone, I saw one of the kids slip into the chair outside by the fire and he had a stick in his hand with a marshmallow on it.

We were celebrating the end of my first week at the new job.  Good conversation, some relaxing by the fire, and tasty s’mores.  Heaven.

S'mores Pop Tarts

Trust me when I say the S’mores Pop Tarts will do the trick in a pinch.

Note: August 10 is National S’mores Day, but I’m sure you are allowed to celebrate it whenever you feel the need.  🙂

Boy, we could’ve made S’mores last night WITHOUT the fire! 94 degrees – oof. A magnifying class would’ve created more heat yesterday (or today) than any fire!
Oh, and I found a surefire way to stop the rain, if you’re getting too soggy. Plant grass seed. The work crew from the sewer installation last fall finally came through, “repaired” all the digging they did, and planted grass seed. Not a drop of rain since! 🙂

    • Oh boy. If you are having 94 degrees now, what will happen in July? I laughed so hard a your comment about how to stop the rain. Isn’t that the truth? Good luck with the rain balancing act.
