When Did She Get So Big?

Big one applied for university last week.  She applied to three schools and all indicators are that she will be accepted to each of them and will need to make a choice.

She is smart, works hard, and she is ready to go.  Just as she should be.  But how does it happen?  When did she get so big?  And mature?  And ready to move on?  And when did she decide it was okay to break her poor mom’s heart.  She wants to go for all the right reasons.  To learn, to live, to achieve.

We raised her to be confident, and curious, and happy.  And to never be afraid of change or challenge.

I didn’t think she was really listening.

Go, Big One, Go.

It is bittersweet Techy. But when they grow up and become successful, that means YOU have succeeded. Things are never the same once they move on to college – but they appreciate you more.

  2. Time truly does fly! Mine are 26 and 24 and I just have no idea how they got to this age so quickly. I love the photo. They look like they may have their mom’s sense of humor. Hope all is well your way. Vickie

  3. BEAUTIFUL children and yes they are getting big but….BUT….BUT…..they will always be your little ones! 🙂

Sounds like you did a great job raising her – congratulations! Any idea where she might end up studying?

  5. That is wonderful news for most, bittersweet for a mom. From the photo, I can see why their smiles featured on your 10 for Tuesday post. Beautiful!
